Authorized Dealer R.E.L. Controls installed a Reliable Controls building automation system during construction of the Air Mobility Training Centre.

The size of two football fields, this LEED Silver–certified facility includes two- and three-story educational and office spaces designed to accommodate high-tech aircrew and technician simulation, making it one of the most advanced flight-training
facilities in the world.

Installed mechanical equipment includes chillers, boilers, lights, power monitors, fire alarms, an emergency generator, a domestic hot water system, chemical control, and variable frequency drives. The project required compliance with military standards and
integration of third-party equipment.

The complex training equipment housed in the Air Mobility Training Centre meant the tolerances for the concrete floors were lower than normal. With the Reliable Controls building automation system, facility managers benefit from remote access integration to a wide area network that spans multiple buildings as well as creative programming for energy-saving modes. R.E.L. Controls was awarded the BACnet International Annual Award for BACnet Project of the Year in 2017 for its work on the 8 Wing/CFB Trenton Air Mobility Training Centre
